Bias

In the class of Thinkin skills we had to read a unit related to Bias and the u, to solve two activities.
In item A the concept ''Perjudice'' when it says that German's army blemed jews for every problem that they had in their country being hitler involved in this by perjudice representing to jews. 
In the item B, the prejudice appears distorting the reality, when they tried to show that the jews were the killers and responsables for this damages. We learn and study, so we concern that this two sources show distortion of the reality. The fact of being biased, let us know they are not credible because they are done with the intention of persuading people to believe something that is not reality.
the usage of language in this last mentioned items express bias as a result of the British using two different kind of vocabulary in order to speak about their man and the iraquies, This means that for the first one, the vocabulary was positive and for the second when negative. When they talk about their man, there is no word of rejection or negativity, they named it "professionals, confident and loyal''but now, when they talkabout iraquies there is no kindness at all, "Brainwashed, mad dogs and ruthless" is how they call them.
Now, always someone was going to hold their side but Britain was not going to talk perfectly well of Iraq if they are enemies.

Mad Men

 In the subject thinking skill we saw a video of a Tv Serie called ''Mad Men'' and the company cigarrette ''Lucky Strike'', manipulating the thruth they persuaded people to buy their tobacco and to smoke it, althought  the harmful effects of smoking in people's body they could convince people to buy tobacco.
The vested interest of the company was to sell their tobacco. For this they thought on  doing an advertise where they would not tell the truth to warn people that smoking won't harsh their health or kill them. As it is obvious their other vested interest is to make people smoke. Peter's idea was rejected as he proposed a slogan where people would see that the cigarrettes are bad to the health and that would harsh the economy of the company as they want people to smoke, this slogan was negative. On the other hand the idea of Don was accepted as he was lying about the effects of Tobacco in human's body and this advertise was very believable for the people.

The vested interest of the company "Pall Mall" it's also to sell their cigarrettes by telling that smoke is a pleasure for the body and that their product is very funny. They distort the truth asthey tell say that their filters are the best and it's less harmful for people's body. Also their slogan attracts people to smoke as it says "dont' miss" so its very convinced to tell people that if they dont smoke this product funny will be missed.
